Next Generation mission-critical, quick-release (QR) mounting system for tripod and bipod mounted firearms


The system comprises two key components: a male QR dovetail rail and a QR clamp with integrated indexing lock-pin. This new system was designed from the ground up by RRS to address the issues of friction-based QR systems in use since 2002.


The system was specifically designed to endure the rigors of warfare, integrating US-sourced, high-performance materials that are CNC machined and assembled in the US. The clamps are built to withstand a brutal drop-test at 40 ft-lbs of energy onto concrete in direct shear (with the clamp closed) and still maintain full functionality.


Optimizes a versatile feature set to accommodate the wide array of situational requirements today’s precision shooter encounters. The R-Lock design enables single-handed tension adjustment and repositioning while enhancing sightless indexing within the clamp.


The ambidextrous system uses a tool-less, highly adjustable, lever-release system which optimizes a rapid re-positioning process. RRS clamps are compatible with both the 1.5” dovetail standard, as well as Mil-Std 1913/NATO STANAG 4694 Rails. Moreover, the adjustability of the clamp allows compatibility with many other arca-type rails that are not in spec with the RRS 1.5” Dovetail Standard and is backwards compatible with all RRS rails.

Ultimate Repositioning

The R-LOCK (short for Rapid-Lock) System adds unique safety-stop features which are built in both a mounting rail and quick-release clamp that adhere to the RRS 1.5” Standard. The advantage of the System is the user has multiple “hard-stop” positions along the rail while retaining smooth edges and corners for maximum ergonomics and a snag-free interface that is inherently resistant to wearing down.

The spring-loaded 5mm stainless steel pin engaged by the R-LOCK mechanism stands up to devastating shearing forces

Backwards Compatible

The pin is spring-loaded to automatically engage the R-LOCK holes or be pushed down by non-R-LOCK rails, making it compatible with a wider range of “arca-type” rails
